Another Update
The Seattle Times reported at 11:45 am that a “Study says there’s room for a Sonics arena next to Auburn racetrack“.
The consultant, Brailsford & Dunlavey, estimated the cost for a 770,000-square-foot arena would be more than $450 million, assuming construction started in 2009.
A survey of Seattle’s “corporate community” found some support for the arena proposal if that was the only way to keep the NBA franchise in the Seattle area. The study has been sent to Gov. Christine Gregoire and Sonics and Storm owner Clay Bennett.
So I guess that’s good news, right?

FYI – The article was updated at 12:59. I wonder if it was to redact the term “firewater” from the text….
Also added in the update. The Muckleshoot Tribe said they would donate the land next to Emerald Downs if anyone wanted to build an arena there.
As was and ever will be: Indians can’t give land away fast enough.
If they build that arena, does that mean we get to spray our malaria and smallpox guns from the rooftop so as to coat the land? They’ll rue the day they gave that land to the white man. Moreover, can we change Squatch to an Indian Blackjack Dealer? And, at breaks in the action, can someone teach the crowd how to make a dreamcatcher? I just want to know “HOW!”
There must be a law on the books preventing this tribal arena from this happening. Anyway, the indians have a great deal more business savy nowadays….I thought that Slade was using his fishsticks fortune to solve this problem?
Goodbye, bobblehead giveaways.
Hello, trinket giveaways.
Dreamcatchers work — if your dream is to be gay.

Would the injuns really give away trinkets? I think they value them a little too much.
