No Focus Pocus

Nothing concrete to say, Ceezy? Then how about a no focus pocus? The pocus is short for “Post, cuz.”

Two points:

Peep the comment section on my Ben Roethlisberger post! It’s taken a turn for the hilarious. Multiple commenters or one nerd with many aliases? You be the judge. Maybe I’m getting traffic thrown my way from Big Ben Sucks dot com.

And secondly – you know I love soccer, but there are things about it I hate. Namely all of the Christian Ronaldo-y flopping and pleading to the referees for penalty kicks. And I see you there saying “Yes, yes, exactly.” But here’s where I turn you on your head: This epidemic is infesting football. Not European football, but steak and eggs for breakfast American Football.

null

I was shocked this week watching Kellen Winslow and Kevin Faulk and whoever else gesticulating towards the officials anytime there was an incomplete pass. To the numbers! Tom Brady is leading the league by far with a 73.2% completion rate. 3 out of 10 incomplete passes is not an insignificant occurrence. For most quarterbacks it’s 4 out of 10. Memo to wide receivers and quarterbacks league wide: Incomplete passes happen. Spare me the fucking theatrics.

Oh, and Rodney Harrison is second on my Joey Porter List of Guys Who Can’t Have Their Knees Torn Up Fast Enough.

Add other crap!

Call me fucking crazy, but I think How I Met Your Mother is funny. Neil Patrick Harris slays as an uber het lothario. They ought to give him an Oscar even though it’s tv. He was good in Harold and Kumar and continues his run of form. Lance Bass could not carry this role, which brings that list to every role ever. Unrelated I suppose. I only like this probably because my fiance is obsessed with CBS programming. Thank goodness I didn’t know her before Wolf Lake. Which was set in the Northwest and featured Lou Deezy Pheezy! Was I missing something other than terrible? Probably not. But the possiblity kills me.

Tolstoy is insane. Don’t be put off by the absurd length of his books. He didn’t have cable, or satellite. Every page features wry burns on every brand of Euro. Reading people! (Not Reading.)

Superb use of exclamation points. This is blogging in its purest form: drunken ranting. More of this please.

The genius of Wolf Lake was stymied by the events of September 11th. It could have influenced a generation. Wasn’t it supposed to take place in Bothell? Are the Bakers werewolves? Can someone send me the abrreviated series on DVD? Leo Tolstoy was a mediocre Artillery Officer. That is all I have to say about these things.

Cognitive Dissonance Alert! Your chosen photo does not jib with your contention of Ronaldo being a flopper: clearly he is being cynically scythed down by the French defender. Great post, though – you should be proud of yourself!

Completely with you on Rodney Harrison. Kellen Winslow is the truth, though.
