What do I know about Miami (Ohio)?

Wally Szczerbiak torched Washington for 43 points in the 1999 NCAA Tournament. The game signaled the beginning of the end for Bob Bender due to his inability to devise a defensive scheme to stop a team with one player.

Miami of Ohio is the alma mater of the most overrated (now overpaid too!) qb in the NFL, Ben Roethlisberger.

What did I just learn about Miami (Ohio)?

Swingman Michael Bramos leads the RedHawks in scoring with 16.2 ppg.

Beat Xavier at home. Won at South Alabama, Mississippi State, and Illinois. Nice resume. Shame about the 17-15 record.

1991 Jodie Foster vehicle Little Man Tate was filmed on Miami’s campus.

What do I know about Tulsa?

It’s starting to seem like there are a lot of Conference USA teams in this tournament.

What did I just learn about Tulsa?

Guard Ben Uzoh is their leading scorer at 15.3 ppg.

Won at Colorado.

Where Virginia is known as Jefferson’s university, Tulsa is known as Largent’s.

Who do I like?

I’m really torn here. On the one hand Miami boasts those big non-conference wins (seriously, Xavier!) On the other hand their mascot, the RedHawks, features some unacceptable mid mascot capitalization. Tulsa just leaves me with no reaction, other than that the Golden Hurricane could be a sex move. (Flips coin.)

Gimme Miami (Ohio)
