Range Life: How do you want it?
Fig Jam
You want me to drain a 25 footer on 18 to win? You want that? Ok, fine.
The latest victory by Tiger Woods at the Bay Hill Invitational (his 5th win in 5 tournaments this year) hosted by Arnold Palmer, was a little different than Woods’ victories in the previous months. Rather than a total woodshed scenario, Woods actually had to stage somewhat of a charge down the stretch, culminating with a long bomb birdie putt on 18 for the victory.

The win is notable basically only because it means there can now be a meaningful discussion about Tiger’s chances at the most impressive record in all of golf: 11 consecutive wins, which was accomplished by Byron Nelson in 1945. The only mainstream records I can think of that compares with Nelson’s 11 wins, are perhaps DiMaggio’s 56 game hitting streak, or maybe Ripken’s 2,632 consecutive game’s played streak. In other words: records that may never fall.

So yeah…. other than that, Tiger’s latest win was pretty boring. Expect Tiger to be such a prohibitive favorite at the Masters that gambling on him won’t even be worth your time.

Next up Doral. Tiger owns the WGCs.
Is it wrong that I enjoy the Tiger-less events because I like to see other guys have a shot?
Wow! I can’t believe the Sounders season starts in 3 weeks. Looking forward for opening night.
