Commissioner, Your Slip Is Showing
Sager Bombs
Wait a second here… we’re suddenly supposed to believe that David Stern, the micromanaging, occasionally tyrannical commish “hasn’t studied” the emails that have caused this latest round of Sonics controversy?
It’s that easy to duck a question these days?
And what is there really to study? What was said seems pretty black and white. What’s more shocking to me is this: Stern’s attempt to shuck and jive the question is only furthering public sentiment that the city of Seattle is getting hosed. As someone living in the southeast, I can count on two fingers the number of times other people have mentioned this whole fiasco to me… until last week.
Stern, the former master of greasing the media to do his bidding, is completely and totally dropping the ball on this one, and he’s given Save Our Sonics renewed life again (maybe not much, but a pulse, and that’s something).
Worst of all, and it kills me to say it, but ESPN’s recent publicity has been huge to the cause. For the most part, people outside of the northwest could give a flying fuck about the Sonics. HOWEVUH, a story like this is real life drama, and the kind of thing that talking heads can scream about for weeks. Big money corporate arrogance vs. the long suffering little guy? Pretty sure how that usually gets framed in the media. Better still, every PR grab like the Schultz suit and bonehead move like Stern’s play-dumb conference call is just going to keep it in the public eye, letting the Supes hang over the playoffs like the big wet fart the NBA deserves to smell. Because, like a great man once said, whoever smelt it dealt it.
So please, pretty please Mr. Stern. Don’t look over those emails. Keep your magnifying glass and monocle away. Yup, nothing to see here. Just let us keep doing our thing. I’m sure those tech-savvy Okies didn’t fuck anything else up in the last year and a half. You people got it all under control.

Man, that’s going to be awkward when Stern and Schultz run into each other at Rosh Hashana services this year.
It’s interesting to look at the comments posted by Oklahomans on their newspaper website. Apparently, many of them don’t seem to think there’s much chance that the Sonics will come to OKC now, mostly because Bennett’s a slimeball and screwed it up. A lot of them are hoping to get the Hornets. I would too, since they are actually good this year.
If the Sonics move to Oklahoma City, do they have to add Timothy McVeigh to the Boom Squad?
it seems to be a contest between MLB, NBA and NHL to hire the biggest idiot on the planet to be commish! So far, its a 3 way tie with NFL gaining on the backstretch!!
