Mariners playing Plink-O
Fig Jam
It’s either plink-O or they are just throwing darts at a roster to decide how to handle personnel decisions. How else can you explain designating Norton for assignment? How? He only has 16 AB’s and in those 16 AB’s he has 7 hits (.437). What indicates that he is the problem with the Mariners offense? The guy has performed when given the chance this season. There are a number of other players who should have gone before him.
Designating Wilkerson makes more sense. I wonder if Bavasi has to write an apology letter to the ownership group for wasting so much money for basically nothing. Wilkerson had a 3 million dollar deal. Ouch.

Chalk it up. Foley. Brunson. Wilkerson. I’m going to start taking requests.

Wilkerson did get sent to the minors. Unfortunately, it should have been Jose Vidro and him, not Norton.

In other news, Hot Dog’s soccer team reached the Champions League Final.

Shoulda been Cairo, not Norton. Why are we keeping Willie Ballgame 2.0 on the bench, not to mention 12 pitchers who aren’t being used properly anyway, to get rid of both backups for Sexson.

Constable is a GM-in-waiting - good call on Wilkerson. I like how Bavasi was challenging him to start hitting (along with the other guys in the lineups) is if he expected something else from him. Bavasics of math: Terrible season + one year older = awesome season.
I like that young position players are getting a chance for once - have we talked about johjima’s new deal on this site yet? wtf?
ps: tubby, you’re out of your element.

Let’s all give Bavasi a break the next couple weeks. Who am I kidding … the wrong Bavasi died.
