The USS Mariner says they have 5 games before it is officially over, but I tend to agree with you. At this point, it’s all semantics. This team isn’t going anywhere. Whether we admit it today, tomorrow, or retroactively apply the ‘give up’ date to a few weeks ago, it doesn’t really matter.
As for where the Mariners are going, based on last night’s attendance, which was the lowest in the history of SAFECO field for a Mariner game, ownership might consider a more appropriate venue, say for instance the Brickyard in OKC. At 13K capacity, last night’s game would have been SRO.
I know I’m in the minority, but if I had to choose I’d rather give up the M’s than the Supes.
God, the M’s are awful. Clement is a strikeout factory. Who keeps deciding to give Cairo AB’s? The only thing more depressing than being in Iraq is logging on to the computer each morning and checking the M’s boxscore. I’m skeptical on any Griffey deal. Whatever, we’ll always have Johjima.
