Mariners need to hit reset button
Fig Jam
Remember the old school nintendo? Yeah you do. What a great introduction into video gaming. I consider myself truly priviliged to be in the generation of America’s youth that got to realize the introduction of the NES and the pandora’s box of video gaming that has spawned from its creation. I do wish that it hadn’t destroyed my attention span, convinced the generation behind me that ’school’ and ’sports’ and ‘being outside’ aren’t necessary from ages 8-18, and will generally come to be realized as the catalyst for the downfall of the great American culture, But anyhow….I digress.

What I really loved about the Nintendo was the reset button. Wasn’t that great? If I was losing in Baseball Stars (not likely) or died in Contra (up up down down left right left right B A B A select start), or was down late at Double Dribble and I passed the point of no return, where victory was no longer attainable, then BOOM! Reset. I got to start all over. The best part was the guys on the other team didn’t even realize that like 5 minutes ago they had just beaten me (or almost beaten me). There was no mental edge. They got nothing from the almost victory because I got to the reset button before it made it to the standings. What they did know was that my team was undefeated. They knew that. Those games were in the standings. But there was no record of any other team ever having recorded a victory against my squad. I had an absolutely amazing mental edge. It was magical.

The Seattle Mariners could use a similar reset button scenario. They need to purge the memory of the past 2 months from their brains. Never happened. A winning streak or slow climb back into contention will not erase the fact that they have embarassed themselves for almost a quarter of the season. Will not take the helmet throw back, or the Wilkerson debacle, or the game where they score 12 runs and lost, or the 9 games where they score 12 runs total, or Washburn’s throwing people under the bus, or really any of the shit that has gone down both on and off the field. The Mariners have been a mess whether it be in the clubhouse, on the basepaths, or in the field. They need to reset.
I agree with Dave Boling that Bavasi’s time is up. He has not gotten the job done. He does not seem to understand how to build a baseball team. Rather than signing baseball players in the offseason, he seems to try and cut and paste in free agents based on position needs. That may be important for certain defensive positions, but for a spot like RF, he needed to go get a legitimate player. Brad Wilkerson was an absolute disgrace LAST season and the fact that Bavasi paid him is confounding and infuriating. Seriously, I should get a million dollar contract. How could I be worse (I’ll show you how, just give me the chance)?

I have also noticed that this blog has stopped posting pictures of hot women. What an egregious mistake that was/is. I apologize. It won’t happen again. Not on my watch.

I like the reset button metaphor. I like scantily clad Scarlett J pictures better.

I’ve posted that picture before, and I will post it again. It’s one of the hottest pictures I’ve ever seen.

The amazing thing is that none of us would ever use the phrase “scantily clad” were it not for Marvin Young from South Wimbledon (England? Who knew?) aka Young MC.

Given that we probably have the most depressing sports scene in the country at the moment, we need more pictures of good looking women and adorable puppies. In that order.

First - I don’t have all the nicknames figured out, but I assume that Fig Jam must be Tho Vo. It took that guy a year to get through a perfect season on “All-American”, but with the help of the reset button he finally did it.
Second - that photo has me reconsidering my policy of not masturbating at work.

which picture? Scarlett or the Princess. That look in the Princess’ eyes tells me that something’s going on in that picture. She is also doing something provacative with her right hand.
The Scarlett picture is just amazing.
