Could Paul Pierce’s “injury” have been more contrived?

Paul Pierce collapsed in a heap on the baseline, clutching his knee. Brian Scalabrine had to carry him off the court. Pierce, at this point crying, was put into a wheelchair just to make it to the training room. Boston’s season hung in the balance. The highest of drama for ABC.
And then five minutes later Paul Pierce skipped out onto the court. Turns out he wasn’t hurt at all. This didn’t stop ABC from milking the bejesus out of this third rate Willis Reed moment. What COURAGE in the face of OVERWHELMING ADVERSITY!
“How long ago do you think they planned this?” wondered Hotdog after Pierce’s triumphant return to a standing ovation.
