Sonics should draft Russell Westbrook at #4
Constable Echelon
Briefly for your consideration:
-Jerryd Bayless averaged a somehow unimpressive 20 points per game last year for an underachieving Arizona team.
-Russell Westbrook averaged 12 points per game while being the ultimate glue/energy guy for the UCLA machine.
-Jerryd Bayless’ slight boyish frame doesn’t exactly scream “NBA ready”.
When in doubt, you could do worse than taking the man among boys.
That is all.

Jerryd Bayless strikes me as the guy everyone says should go #4, but no one really knows why. The first mock-draft had him there so everyone else was like, “is that fine with everyone else? good. bayless at #4 it is.”

I’m thinking they should trade down a slot or two, and take Kevin Love, just so his ahole dad has to shag his ass to OKC to watch him play.

An interesting idea with Westbrook. Bayless also averaged 3 turnovers with his 4 assists… not exactly the true point the Sonics need at this time. If they want Westbrook, it would be savvy to trade down the ladder with a team looking to get Love, or Bayless, or maybe even Mayo (if Minnesota doesn’t grab him) at the four spot. I’m not sure what another team could offer the Sonics as compensation for trading spots, but it’s a worthwhile exploration.
Better question, how good would Michael Beasley look in a Supes uni? There are rumors that Miami would trade the #2 pick if they were guaranteed to get Mayo…

I saw a mock draft yesterday on Cnnsi.com that had the Sonics taking Westbrook. I really like the pick. He is certainly not the most glamorous 4th pick in history, but should provide some toughness and defense something the sonics obviously need.

Fuck it. Let’s just load up the team with Nasty Nations who just try to shit on people at every opportunity. If we are going to be horrible during these lame duck years at least I want some Sportscenter highlights.
