Despair, Bobby Jones fans across the world. It appears the 2008-09 season will be another nomadic journey for the Odyssean small forward.

Jones was traded today to the black hole of basketball talent that is the New York Knicks.

News of the Bobby Jones trade reaches Iraq

Already awash with guaranteed contracts, the Knicks are expected to waive Jones (and Green). Jones, who only needed to stay on the roster until August 15 to have his nearly $800k contract for next season guaranteed, was doomed after the Nuggets signed Dahntay Jones and Chris “The Birdman” Andersen to one-year deals. That made Hard Working Bobby Jones expendable to the cost-conscious Nuggets.

I don’t think I could possibly hate pro basketball any more at this point. First my beloved Yakama (Indians can’t spell) Sunkings go under, then the Sonics leave for Oklahoma, now you’re telling me Will Conroy and Bobby Jones might not be in the NBA next year. Unless Yakima get’s a new NBA expansion team staring Will Conroy, Bobby Jones and 3 drunken indians sleeping outside the Sundome I am done with professional basketball.

Poor Bobby. He plays SICK defense, and deserves a roster spot somewhere. If only I had ANY love left for the NBA.

Bobby Jones doesn’t deserve this kind of treatment, he should sign in Europe – a nice stable 5-year contract – plus, they’d really appreciate his balls-to-the-wall work-ethic over there…
