Since building a loyal and committed fan base will always be difficult in this beautifully sports saturated country, this performance did a lot to call attention to the sport. I still don't think we have a prayer against the Italy's of the world, because they don't play the free flowing style that Spain and Brazil do. Spain was content to press forward up the middle confident that their superior skill would eventually subdue the US. Bradley had the US packed in to stop buildup up the middle and really, really, really conceded the wings. Brazil tried the same stuff as Spain in the first half. In the second Dunga wised up and had Brazil attack from the outside where the US was forced to let them run free. We are now good enough that you can't do whatever you want to us.
