			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I saw the name and thought up this great post written about how this hiring is the Bizarro <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0104926/">Mr. Baseball</a> &#8212; I envisioned Wakamatsu-san overhauling the roster by bringing the entire Orix Blue Wave over to play, and every pitcher would throw the splitter, and Brandon Morrow would have to grow a mustache (and give moustache rides). </p>
<p>Maybe we would even take a flyer on <a href="http://prettytough.com/japanese-pro-team-signs-16-year-old-female-pitcher/">this girl</a>, and we could trot her out to the mound dressed up like O-Ren Ishii&#8217;s bodyguard.</p>

<p>Then I found out Don Wakamatsu is from Oregon, and is not, in fact, a Japanese manager.  What a buzzkill. </p>
<p>But I am still wondering how many wins a Japanese team would put up in the 2009 American League West. I mean, after a 61-win season&#8230;why not mix it up?</p>
